A Message from Stephanie

Hello! I’m Stephanie King, founder of Kitchen & Market.

I’ve been dreaming of launching Kitchen & Market for years - a market offering restaurant-quality meal kits along with a carefully curated selection of groceries. Think specialty market meets meal kit service with a touch of everyday grocery. We aim to provide a simple-yet-delicious answer to that daily question: “what’s for dinner?”

The doors were to swing open in 2020. And then the world turned upside down. So, we pivoted, we launched a delivery and pick-up meal kit service in Seattle. Over the past year and a half, we have been perfecting recipes and learning, a lot.

But through it all, one thing has become incredibly clear.

We all still need dinner.
No matter what, we need delicious.
Now, more than ever, we need simple.

This current state has reignited my passion for bringing people together through good food.

And now it's time, we are finally moving forward with our original dream - our very first store will open this fall in Pike Place Market. 

We’re grateful to have a place at your table and we hope to bring a little joy to your kitchen every time you unpack one of our meal kits or stop in our store -  whether it be for a gallon of milk, a little dinner inspiration, or a sweet treat.


Who We Are

An essential part of the Kitchen & Market team is my daughter, Hannah. Someday, when people ask her what she did when the pandemic struck during her senior year in high school, she’ll say she dove right into starting Kitchen & Market with her mom. Hannah has done everything from web development and social media to helping with cooking and recipe testing. She is the perfect partner and I'm her biggest fan. 

Over the past couple years, a few things have changed - Hannah has headed off to college (although remains a forever presence here at Kitchen & Market) and while the team has grown, one thing remains the same, we are committed to providing good food - food that we would all be proud to serve to our own friends and families - from our kitchen to yours.


Meet the Team

Stephanie King

Stephanie King, founder of Kitchen & Market, has spent the past 16 years developing private label programs for national retailers such as Whole Foods, Kroger and Target. During this time, she launched hundreds of items with her extensive supplier network and built strong industry connections with key retail players. Stephanie understands the buy-sell dynamic that drives the grocery industry and is channeling this experience into an exceptionally unique grocery format. Her passion for cooking and entertaining is evident throughout the Kitchen & Market concept and truly guides our mission.


Tori Mann

Executive Chef

With over 15 years of restaurant industry experience and culinary training, Tori Mann is a perfect fit with the Kitchen & Market team. A Seattle native, she has worked with some of Seattle’s finest chefs, including Thierry Rautureau at Rover’s and Phillippe Thomelin at Olivar. From her years as executive chef at Lola’s, Tori brings the culinary experience and execution needed to develop our line of signature house brand products as well as develop fabulous meal kit menus and manage the day-to-day efforts of our commissary team. We couldn’t be more excited (or lucky) to have Tori as our head of kitchen.


Andrea Lee

Director of Marketing & Brand

Andrea Lee brings over 15 years of marketing and brand experience to the Kitchen & Market team. Her background ranges from market research, private label, and media buying across a variety of industries. Andrea has worked for many well-known brands like Staples, Domino's and most recently, Sur La Table. Over her career she has led corporate and local marketing initiatives, partnered with local chefs for demos and events, led rebranding strategies and brand awareness studies and is excited to channel this experience into building a loyal customer following and neighborhood presence for Kitchen & Market.


Michael Johnson

Director of Operations

Michael Johnson has been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. Most recently as the Director of Operations for the Columbia Tower Club in Seattle and prior to this role with Blue C Sushi restaurant group. Michael’s experience in expansion and the implementation of strategic policies and procedures will support Kitchen & Markets emergence, growth and successful operations. He will be key in driving positive financial results through building solid teams to thrive in today’s environment and consistently deliver a quality product. Michael has a proven track record of creating and nurturing a productive and progressive company culture.


Rachel Dykes

Director of Purchasing

Rachel Dykes has spent the last ten years working in sourcing and category management for food manufacturers, brokers and grocery retailers. Rachel has worked at almost every level of food retail including space management, data analysis, branded category management and private label product development. She has worked for large national retailers such as Whole Foods Market, overseeing categories worth more than $200 million in annual sales, as well as small family businesses looking to expand their products across the country. Rachel has also traveled the world sourcing products to bring innovative new items to the US market.
